From Spirituals to Swing; An indepth analysis of blues music, and it's truest of origins.

From the earliest times roughly 400 years ago, to today, the blues and it's precursor's live and thrive, in the hearts and minds of every imaginable background of people.

If you've ever wondered about it's fabled beginnings, what exactly seperates specific styles, (not just electric lead guitar), how did it come to sound the way it does, and why is it so vital, to so many people, then this workshop is for you. All you'll need to bring is an open mind, and a love for the history of music.

Topics to be covered;

    -Gospel music

    -Spirituals/Field Hollers/Work Songs

    -Examining the sub-genres of early blues; piedmount/delta/rag time/etc.

    -Dispelling common misconceptions and myths about the blues

    -Live examples of each genre
