Orphica

This extremely rare instrument was an early portable keyboard that could be carried around and placed on a table to play.

Very few of these instruments have survived and, although the exact number is unknown, it would be safe to estimate that fewer than 100 remain in working order today.

The case is made of mahogany and is surrounded by an open metal frame which is lacquered in black and gold-guilt foliage. The action mechanism is Viennese with leather-covered hammers.
