Boom!
BOOM! Celebrating a Century of Music in Alberta is a permanent exhibition that recognizes and celebrates the diverse nature of the Alberta music community.
The concept for this exhibition was inspired by both the Alberta centennial year in 2005 as well as the need to celebrate, recognize, document and permanently exhibit the achievements that collectively define Alberta music story.
Items that are currently on display include an Alberta Music Timeline measuring 40 feet in length complete with historical photographs and information; dozens of original concert posters; albums covers; platinum records; autographs; a rare Calgary-made grand piano ca. 1928; a jacket worn by Jann Arden in a 1996 video Good Mother one of CKUA Radio’s first on-air microphones ca. 1927, and a rare analogue synthesizer made in Calgary ca. 1981.
