The JELOTRON
 

Have you met the JELOTRON yet? JL, Cantos' Electronics Technician created this imaginative synthesizer out of old electronic parts abandoned in collections. Watch the video to learn how it works and to hear the amazing sounds it makes.


The PVC Aerophone
 

Cantos Music Foundation's Piano Technician Anne Phillips gives us a behind-the-scenes look at the colourful, fun interactive instrument she co-created called the PVC Aerophone. Originally created for the Calgary Science Fair, the PVC Aerophone is now used as a hands-on demonstration instrument for school tours at Cantos. Click here to watch it in action!

Do you have great, hi-res pictures of you doing your thing with passion? Would you like to be featured in National Music Centre marketing materials? If we use them, we'll be sure to let you know and to send you copies of any materials in which your image appears. We'll also make a point to identify you where appropriate. Please send images to: kucyk@cantos.ca Include 300 dpi images, full name, where you're from, and what you're doing/where you're playing in the photo. By sending photos you agree to let Cantos Music Foundation use the images in marketing and promotional materials and agree that you have the rights to all images you send. New Blue Mondays!
 

The new Blue Mondays have really kicked off in the last few months. Our brand-new Cantos House Band and the monthly special guest have really taken the stage. Lots of kids have been joining the jam too, making this the perfect family-friendly night out for you music lovers.


In The Loop: National Music Centre Info Session
 

Learn about the National Music Centre project in a casual, lunch-time session at our convenient downtown location. Bring your lunch, we'll supply coffee, tea and the latest information on one of the country's most exciting cultural initiatives - the National Music Centre.


Cantos at the Calgary Science Fair
 

On March 18, Cantos participated in the Calgary Science Fair and provided a bright and colorful booth full of brand new interactive built by the talented Cantos technicians.
