Creative Spaces
| A fundamental part of our mission is to use our cultural space to create engaging music experiences for the community. So, in 2010, Cantos has launched its Creative Spaces program that provides affordable space to the arts community to help encourage education, collaboration, cooperation, creation and performance of music. The results so far, have been fantastic with some interesting and eclectic groups holding events here at Cantos including Collective on Sundays with Random Task Collective, Shot at the Dark with Calgary Is Awesome, a Chester Thompson drum workshop with Long and McQuade, a workshop on cultivating your career as a composer with the Canadian League of Composers and many many more. Cantos Music Foundation’s creative spaces program provides a place for:
- Showcasing established and emerging talent, fostering and enriching the music community, and attracting new and diverse audiences in our Performance Space.
- Sharing expertise, nourishing creativity, expanding knowledge and networks through master classes, lectures, and receptions in our Presentation Space.
Stimulating ideas, discussions and team building for small groups in our Meeting Space.

Tours
As a highlight to your event, condensed tours of the collection are available to groups at an additional cost.
Promotional Support
In line with Cantos’ mandate to support and help create engaging music experiences, we offer promotional support to music related events that are booked at Cantos by providing the opportunity to submit a PSA, electronic poster, or event details to be listed on our website and/or included in our newsletter.
Rates
Rates are based on a 4 hour rental period. Additional time is at a rate of $50/hour and dependent upon availability.
Performance Hall & Lecture Hall:
Not-for-profit and Recital Rate = $300 + GST
Commercial and Corporate Rate = $450 + GST
Meeting Room:
Not-for-profit and Recital Rate = $150 + GST
Commercial and Corporate Rate = $200 + GST
